About Me
Omayra Mansfield, MD, MHA, FACEP is a Chief Medical Officer of a Central Florida hospital. She is board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Mansfield attended Princeton University, then completed her medical degree and master’s in healthcare administration at the University of Florida. She completed her emergency medicine residency at Carolinas Medical Center in North Carolina.
Prior to working as an emergency medicine physician, Dr. Mansfield spent several years in healthcare administration and has held several leadership roles in various departments throughout her over two-decade career in healthcare, in areas including medical staff, faculty group practice, emergency department, and finance. She has been honored with the ACHE Innovation Award, Resident Research Award, SAEM Excellence in Emergency Medicine Award, and AMA Medical Student Leadership Award, among others.
Over the course of her healthcare career and as a lifelong learner, Dr. Mansfield has benefited from opportunities to learn and grow as a physician leader. She encourages other aspiring physician leaders to do the same. She has seen firsthand the benefit of working in multidisciplinary groups and collaborating effectively. She is a sought after presenter within AdventHealth, a 50+ hospital health-system. She serves as part of the teaching faculty of Physician Team Leadership, the Patient Safety Academy, and the medical group Leadership Curriculum. Seeking innovative ways to work with others across the healthcare industry, she helped create and was the first Physician Liaison board member for the Central Florida chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
She is co-creator, facilitator and co-author of The Trust Transformation, an evidence-based training program and book. She also served as a principal investigator on research studies at AdventHealth to explore the impact and outcomes of a more intentional focus on trust in relationships. Omayra is recognized as one of the Top 100 Thought Leaders Influencing Trusted Business Behavior by Trust across America/Trust around the World. She is a contributing author to a number of books, articles, and publications, and teaches people how to improve results by improving relationships through a more intentional focus on earning, building, and restoring trust.
Dr. Mansfield lives in Orlando with her husband Frederick and their daughter Elizabeth and son Alexander, where the family enjoys staying active doing CrossFit and running.
